Quiche Lorraine; A great base for many quiches

Quiche is a great way to easily make a hearty pie that almost anyone will love.

Here’s an example I made today, using Salmon as its main flavoring ingredient.

Quiche Lorraine with Salmon

Filling:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1.5 salmon chunks (baked)
  • bunch of grated/chunked cheese
  • big ol’ scoop of mascarpone

Dough:

  • 250g flour
  • 125g butter (molten)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt, some water drops

Bake in oven at 200C/390F for 40-50 mins.

You can replace the Salmon for almost any other ingredient, the rest of the ingredients will flexibly follow along. I recommend using something with a strong specific flavor profile to guide the rest of the flavors, such as (smoked) bacon, (smoked) fish, vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes and asparagus.. Etc. You can put as many of them in there as you want, as long as you make sure you have enough egg to support the structure and keep it whole.
